How to Set Up IPTV on Windows PC

Ryan Fernandez·

To watch IPTV on a Windows PC or laptop, install a desktop player such as VLC, MyIPTV Player or IPTV Smarters Pro for Windows. VLC accepts an M3U playlist URL directly under Media, Open Network Stream; the dedicated players accept Xtream Codes API credentials and give you a proper channel guide. All three run on Windows 10 and 11, and a wired connection gives noticeably steadier 4K playback than Wi-Fi.

Two great options for IPTV on Windows: IPTV Smarters Pro (full-featured with EPG) or VLC Media Player (free, open-source, zero setup required).

Method 1: IPTV Smarters Pro for Windows (Recommended)

1Download IPTV Smarters Pro for Windows from the Microsoft Store or the official website.
2Install and open the application.
3Click Add User → Login with Xtream Codes API.
4Enter your Tivimate Server URL, Username, and Password.
5Click Login — all channels, VOD, and EPG load automatically.
6Use the Live TV section for channels and VOD for movies and series.

Method 2: VLC Media Player (Free, No Account Needed)

1Download VLC from videolan.org and install it.
2Open VLC and click Media in the top menu.
3Select Open Network Stream (or press Ctrl+N).
4Paste your Tivimate M3U URL into the network URL field (request your M3U URL via WhatsApp).
5Click Play — your channels will start streaming immediately.

💡 VLC has no EPG (TV guide) but is completely free and works on any Windows version.
