TiviMate Not Working? 10 Fixes That Work in 2026

TiviMate is one of the most reliable IPTV players available — but like any app, it can run into issues. This guide covers the most common TiviMate problems and how to fix each one quickly.

Fix 1 — Force Stop and Restart TiviMate

The simplest fix first. Go to your device Settings → Applications → TiviMate → Force Stop, then reopen TiviMate. This clears stuck processes and resolves most random crashes or freezes.

Fix 2 — Clear TiviMate Cache

Go to Settings → Applications → TiviMate → Clear Cache. This removes temporary data without deleting your playlists or settings. Do NOT tap "Clear Data" — that wipes everything including your playlist setup.

Fix 3 — TiviMate Error Code 458

Error 458 means the stream URL from your IPTV provider has expired or is invalid. Causes and fixes:

• Expired subscription → Renew with your IPTV provider (view Tivimate plans)
• Wrong credentials → Re-check your Server URL, Username, and Password
• Server maintenance → Wait 5 minutes and try again

Fix 4 — TiviMate Buffering

Buffering is almost always a connection issue. Try these in order:

1. Move your device closer to your Wi-Fi router

3. In TiviMate: Settings → Player → Buffer Size → increase to 10–30 seconds
4. Restart your router (unplug for 30 seconds)
5. Use an Ethernet adapter for wired connection (most reliable)

If buffering only happens on specific channels, it's a server-side issue — contact your IPTV provider.

Fix 5 — TiviMate Channels Not Loading

Go to Settings → Playlists → [Your Playlist] → Refresh Now. This pulls fresh channel data from your IPTV server. If channels still don't load, verify your Server URL, Username, and Password are entered exactly as provided — even a single extra space causes failure.

Fix 6 — EPG Not Working

If your programme guide is empty or showing wrong times:

1. Go to Settings → Playlists → [Playlist] → EPG
2. Tap Refresh EPG
3. Check your timezone: Settings → General → Timezone — set it to your local timezone
4. If EPG is completely missing, re-add your playlist from scratch using Xtream Codes API

Fix 7 — TiviMate App Crashes on Startup

If TiviMate crashes before loading: clear cache AND data (you'll need to re-add your playlist), then reinstall TiviMate. If you're on Firestick, also check that your device has enough free storage (TiviMate needs at least 500MB free).

Fix 8 — Closed Captions / Subtitles Not Working

TiviMate supports subtitles for channels and VOD that include them. To enable: while playing a channel, press the Options button → Audio & Subtitles → select your preferred subtitle track. Not all channels include closed captions.
