How to set up TiviMate Companion as a tablet remote, configure EPG sources, add M3U playlists, and manage your TiviMate account.

TiviMate Companion is a free Android app that works alongside TiviMate to give you a full-featured remote control on your phone or tablet. It also lets you manage playlists, browse the EPG, and control playback — all from a touchscreen interface.

Requirement: TiviMate Companion requires TiviMate Premium ($4.99/year) and an active IPTV subscription. Get a free 24-hour Tivimate IPTV trial.

What Is TiviMate Companion?

TiviMate Companion is available on the Google Play Store for Android phones and tablets. Once paired with TiviMate on your TV or Firestick, it acts as:

  • A remote control — navigate channels, adjust volume, switch inputs
  • An EPG browser — scroll the programme guide on your phone while TiviMate plays on TV
  • A playlist manager — add, edit, and switch playlists from your tablet
  • A search tool — find channels or movies by typing on your phone keyboard

How to Set Up TiviMate Companion

  1. Make sure your TV/Firestick and phone/tablet are on the same Wi-Fi network
  2. Open TiviMate on your TV → go to Settings → Companion App
  3. Note the pairing code displayed on screen
  4. On your phone, open TiviMate Companion (download from Google Play)
  5. Tap Connect to TiviMate and enter the pairing code
  6. The devices pair instantly — you now have full remote control

Using TiviMate as a Remote for Tablet

Once paired, your tablet's touchscreen replaces the Firestick remote. Swipe to scroll through channels, tap to select, and use the on-screen keyboard to search. This is particularly useful if your Firestick remote battery is dead, or you prefer a touchscreen interface.

Adding EPG Sources to TiviMate

If you subscribe to Tivimate IPTV using Xtream Codes, the EPG is included automatically — no extra EPG URL needed. The full 7-day programme guide loads with your channels.

If you use an M3U playlist, you can add an XMLTV EPG source manually:

  1. Open TiviMate → Settings → Playlists → [Your Playlist] → EPG
  2. Enter your XMLTV EPG URL (provided by your IPTV service)
  3. Set refresh interval to 4–8 hours
  4. Tap Save — the EPG guide appears within a few minutes

Adding an M3U Playlist to TiviMate

TiviMate Premium supports both M3U and Xtream Codes (recommended) format:

  • Xtream Codes (recommended): Add Playlist → Xtream Codes API → enter Server URL, Username, Password
  • M3U URL: Add Playlist → M3U URL → paste your playlist link

Tivimate IPTV subscribers use Xtream Codes — it's faster, auto-updates, and includes the EPG in one step.

TiviMate Playlist Codes

Your "playlist code" with Tivimate IPTV is the Xtream Codes login details (not a single code — it's three fields: Server URL, Username, Password). These are sent via WhatsApp within minutes of subscribing. Start a free trial to receive your codes.
