The White Lotus is an HBO series. In the USA, all three seasons stream on HBO Max, and Season 3 aired weekly on HBO before arriving in full on the service. In the UK, the show is on Sky Atlantic, and NOW streams it without a Sky contract through an Entertainment Membership. It is not on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video in either country. Season 1 is set in Hawaii, Season 2 in Sicily and Season 3 in Thailand, with eight episodes starring Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins and Patrick Schwarzenegger.
White Lotus has become the defining television event of the mid-2020s. Mike White's anthology series — each season set at a different luxury resort with a new cast of morally compromised holidaymakers — is the kind of television that generates genuine, passionate weekly conversation. Season 3 is set in Thailand, and if anything, it exceeds the first two.
What Is White Lotus About?
White Lotus is an anthology series from HBO. Each season follows a group of wealthy guests at a White Lotus resort over the course of a single week. The show opens with a death — establishing that something terrible has happened — then works backwards to show how the guests arrived at that point. Sharp class satire, beautiful cinematography, outstanding ensemble acting.
- Season 1 (Hawaii): Six episodes. Jennifer Coolidge, Murray Bartlett, Alexandra Daddario. The show that launched the cultural phenomenon.
- Season 2 (Sicily): Seven episodes. Jennifer Coolidge returns. F. Murray Abraham, Aubrey Plaza, Michael Imperioli. Even better than Season 1.
- Season 3 (Thailand): Eight episodes. Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Patrick Schwarzenegger. The most ambitious and thematically rich season.
Where to Watch White Lotus in the USA
In the USA, White Lotus is an HBO series and all three seasons stream on HBO Max. In the UK, the show is on Sky Atlantic, with all three seasons available through Sky and the NOW streaming app.
UK viewers without a full Sky subscription can watch through a NOW Entertainment Membership, which includes Sky Atlantic and its HBO programming; US viewers need an HBO Max plan.
An IPTV player such as TiviMate only shows the channels your provider distributes. Whether any IPTV lineup includes HBO or Sky Atlantic programming depends on that provider's channel list and its rights, so check the list rather than assuming the show is included.
Is White Lotus on Netflix or Amazon Prime?
No. White Lotus is an HBO original: in the USA it streams exclusively on HBO Max, and in the UK on Sky Atlantic and NOW. It is not available on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.
Why Season 3 is the Best Yet
Season 3 takes the show's central preoccupations — wealth, entitlement, spiritual emptiness, and the violence lurking beneath polished surfaces — and filters them through the lens of Buddhist philosophy and East/West cultural collision. The result is the most intellectually ambitious season, with arguably the series' best finale.
Walton Goggins is extraordinary. Carrie Coon delivers what may be the performance of her career. Patrick Schwarzenegger proves that he is far more than his famous surname suggests. Watch all three seasons in order for maximum impact.
